I’ve decided as of this week to stop drinking.
I thought it would be a good start to my new life in Thailand if from when I get there I just don’t drink. It’ll be easier just to tell people I don’t drink and that’s that, rather than maybe having the odd one or two and then if I’m on a night out you get into that whole ‘oh go on just have another’ shite.
So nae drugs and nae booze for me, just sun, sand and good living
I am however still smoking, but only because I look so cool when I do so…

Anyway good luck on the no drinking! Sounds like things are going well!

Comment by Fat Twin November 21, 2007 @ 11:01 amSo will you be ‘weeskinnyjim’ when you get back? I dont think that has the same ring to it.
Comment by lynnmcg November 22, 2007 @ 10:45 amwell the initial training is for 9 months, so after that who knows.
Ideally I’ll get a job somewhere hot and sunny
just because I’m aff the bevvy lynn it does not mean that there will be any less of me to love…
Comment by bigfatjim November 22, 2007 @ 11:20 amHere tryin out new beers and stuff you’ve never had before is all part of the travellin. You don’t need it but it’s nice to sit in the sunshine and drink down a freezin cold bottle of Brahma or whatever daft named beer they have in Thailand.
Listen tae this right, see once when I was in a Chinese restaurant in Spain. I drank this stuff, right, and it had two deed lizards in the bottom. Apparently it’s a delicacy and I had to drink a shot of Chianti afterwards cos the taste is so rank.
See, how could you possibly want to miss all the weird and wonderful stuff like that.

Comment by lynnmcg December 4, 2007 @ 2:44 pmgoing very well thanks – just over two weeks now
this from someone who didn’t go longer than 2 days without a drink for the last… well a while
feel remarkably chirpy and awake, like a fuzzyness has been lifted
should of done it years ago
Only side-effect is that I’m so chirpy is that I end up talking to total randoms on buses/trains all the time. Was chatting to a mother/daughter on the train through to Embra today – just yapping away about random nothingness such as
- Thailand
- Sex change operations
- Winter Vs summer holidays (i.e. cold Vs hot)
- Anti-white racism in London
- Smoking
- Lady boys
and before I know it we arrive at Haymarket and they are running for the door…
Comment by bigfatjim December 4, 2007 @ 7:19 pmCongrats
May i I recomend a pomgranate juice if you have heard of that as a great healthy non alcoholic drink? add some mango and kiwi cubes in to the drink..and also maybe some ice cubes.. drunk in tall glasses poured fresh sparkling water into it.. thats just soo refreshing also full of antioxidants and vitamines.
