Below is the PADI education flowchart

 

I’m currently at Open Water level, which I initially did 6 years ago in the Red Sea. I finished my refresher course today (finally back in the sea - I had forgotten how good it was) and I start my advanced open water course tomorrow.

I’m here for 9 months with the intention of getting to IDC staff instructor – basically I can not only teach people to dive but I can also teach instrustors.

Will I be able to handle the pressure ? Will I be able to pass all the exams ? Will I be able to swim 400m in  under 12 minutes ? Will I just drop all the scuba diving pretence and just get on with being a lady boy ?

Time will tell…

I have a suspicion. I suspect that you are not – in fact – fat. I reckon your order in Starbucks is the old tall skinny wet latte using soya milk. All shiny haired and tall and dashing.

Yvonne, give me a few weeks to get my tan up and my 6 pack back and all will be revealed…
Actually, I was planning to take a photo of me and this ladyboy Amy who works in a bar opposite the dive shop, with a caption something along the lines of
‘One of these people in this photo is me, the other a ladyboy. Answers on a postcard to the usual address’
kind of thing. But then I thought, hang on a minit, they’d all get to see me in the flesh. The ladyboy in question is one of those ones you hear about where you really don’t know until it’s too late (or so I’ve been told…)

Did it mention Pattaya in your book Scandinavian Lassie ?
Or even better did it mention me ??

Oh, and btw, it was 32 degrees here today and I got burned. I did however finish the first half of my advanced diving course (deep and wreck dives), the second half tomorrow. After that it’s the rescue diver course.

So far so good folks…

Sounding good big man! Aye, make with the photos – I also doubt you’re fat. Interested in having a swatch ae the ladyboy too. For, uh, educational purposes.

The first night I got here I was sitting in the bar opposite the dive shop, and the operations manager Terry says to us
“there’s a girl who works here called Amy, she’s really cute, only problem is she’s not a girl”
“aye right” says I “I’ll be able to tell the difference !”
“that’s her over”
“fuck – that’s frightening…”
